Social Inclusion Department
Social Inclusion Department is an integral element of the pastoral system at Featherstone High School. The team includes five Learning Mentors, each attached to a Year Group.
There is also a Lead Learning Mentor and the department is overseen by the Assistant Head for Access and Inclusion.
Learning Mentors work with pupils on a one-to-one and group basis to remove barriers to their learning.
These barriers may include:
- Low confidence/self-esteem
- Lack of motivation
- Bullying
- Anger management
- Peer pressure
- Underachievement
- Low attendance and family issues
Our primary aim is to enable all pupils to realise and achieve their potential.
