TOGETHER WE ACHIEVE

Why FHS?

It is our pleasure to welcome you to Featherstone High School. We are passionate about our mission to engage, enthuse and inspire our students. Featherstone High School is a warm and hardworking community striving for excellence in all we do.

OUR CURRICULUM

We are very focused on delivering high quality lessons that support strong academic achievement. We aim to give students a rich and rewarding education, filled with exciting and unique possibilities. Here at Featherstone, we employ inspirational teachers who are motivated and passionate about their subjects. Students, irrespective of ability, are stretched and supported and their achievements are celebrated and rewarded.

OUR RESULTS

At Featherstone High School we achieve fantastic GCSE and A level results. Year on year, our students achieve excellent GCSE results, and we are regularly placed in the top 5% of schools in the country for the progress they make. This is delivered through a commitment to providing the highest quality teaching and learning experiences for our students.

A Sense of Belonging

As well as being part of a year group, each student is placed into one of our six houses: Care, Respect, Challenge, Resilience, Partnership and Inclusion. Houses help students bond and work across year groups and cultivate a sense of belonging. Students have the opportunity to lead and represent their house in events and competitions throughout the year.

PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE

We want children to leave school having maximised their academic progress but also to really enjoy their time with us and to leave with fond memories. We want them to leave full of self-esteem and confident in themselves and their own abilities. We also want them to be equipped to follow their dreams, ambitions and passions. We have excellent progression outcomes, with over 90% of students moving on to higher education, apprenticeships and employment. This year we had five students accepted to medicine and dentistry and three attending Oxford and Cambridge.
